F. ON THE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
20. Motor Vehicle Policy
Due to the nature of home care, safe operation of motor vehicles is a major concern of the Agency. Motor vehicle verification will be performed with signature upon hire, yearly, and as necessary. The Agency urges all field employees operating or occupying a motor vehicle during work hours to have safety belts properly fastened at all times, in compliance with State Laws.
The Agency also encourages field employees to obey all speed limits and traffic signs. Field employees who are issued a ticket for a moving violation during work hours will be fully responsible for paying any appropriate fines. Parking fines are also the responsibility of the field employee.
Furthermore, should any field employee have their driver’s license suspended as a result of moving traffic violations, automobile accidents or DUI, their employment would be terminated, as a valid driver’s license is a prerequisite for field employment with the Agency. Upon reissue of a valid driver’s license, re-employment with the Agency shall be considered if the position is available.
The field employee must provide the Agency with updated proof of continued auto insurance coverage of personal vehicles by submitting a copy of the card issued to them from their insurance carrier.
It is also the responsibility of the field employee to notify the agency when they renew an expired driver’s license.
All employees authorized to drive Erwine-owned or leased vehicles or personal vehicles in conducting Erwine business must possess a current, valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record. Any change in license status or driving record must be reported to management immediately. A valid driver’s license must be in your possession while operating a vehicle off or on Erwine property.
Erwine-owned or leased vehicles may be used only as authorized by management.
