Clinical Guidelines

• Do not give home phone number to patients/clients
   
• Dress according to agency policy; appearance is important
   
• Avoid engaging in personal discussion with patient/client/family/caregiver(s)
   
• Avoid voicing personal opinions about patients/clients and family/caregiver(s)
   
• Do not offer medical advice
   
• Do not smoke during home visits
   
• Do not expect/accept meals from patients/clients/families/caregivers
   
• Avoid abusing patient/client’s hospitality; use the telephone only in emergency situations or to call the office
   
• Be punctual and responsible
   
• Do not transport patients/client/family/caregiver in car
   
• Do not take anyone into the patients/client’s home with you without administrative approval

All Clinical personnel are expected to communicate with the office to confirm schedule and to receive reports as per agency policy.

This statement of prohibited conduct does not alter Erwine Home Health and Hospice policy of at will employment. Either the employee or Erwine Home Health and Hospice remain free to terminate the employment relationship at any time, with or without reason or advance notice.
